Description
A beautiful and federally endangered Karner Blue butterfly rests on some vegetation in the central Wisconsin meadow where finding one of these guys is an exercise in persistence. They do not have a long flight period, so you might look for one when none are around, even though you're spending time in their favored habitat of fields full of wild lupine. And if they are around, they are tiny and fly very low to the ground. Trying to keep your eye on them as they fly from spot to spot can be next to impossible! This one was found in a known location northwest of Necedah, Wisconsin.
